Commit Your Way

Psalm 37:5-7

David tells the reader to commit their way to the Lord, trust in Him, and He will act — then to be still before Him and wait patiently. Commitment and stillness work together here.

Commit your plans to God, not just your prayers.

Commitment means actually handing it over, not just mentioning it.

Trust He'll act, even on His timeline.

Be still without checking out.

Stillness here is active trust, not passive disengagement.

Wait patiently, not anxiously.

Anxious waiting and patient waiting look different on the outside and feel different on the inside.

Resist comparing your pace to others.

The Psalm was written partly to address envy over others' apparent success.
