The Discipline of Gratitude

Aug 22
1 min read

Colossians 3:15

Paul tells believers to let the peace of Christ rule their hearts, and to be thankful. Gratitude isn't just a feeling that shows up — it's a discipline you choose.

Practice gratitude on purpose.

Don't wait to feel thankful. Choose it, and the feeling often follows.

Let peace rule instead of anxiety.

Peace and gratitude tend to grow together.

Look for what's actually good.

There's usually more to be thankful for than your mood is admitting.

Say it out loud.

Naming what you're grateful for makes it more real and more lasting.

Make it a daily rhythm.

One-time gratitude fades. Daily gratitude changes your outlook.

Dad Takeaway: Gratitude isn't automatic. It's a discipline worth practicing every day.
