Galatians 5:22-23
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience... and self-control."
Self-control is one of the clearest signs of spiritual maturity.
Anyone can react emotionally. Anyone can lose their temper. Anyone can speak without thinking. But self-control allows us to respond wisely instead of reacting impulsively.
For fathers, this matters greatly.
Your family often takes emotional cues from you. When you remain calm during stressful situations, you create stability. When you exercise self-control, you model maturity and wisdom.
Self-control does not happen automatically. It develops as we walk closely with the Holy Spirit. He gives us the ability to pause, think, pray, and choose a better response.
Every day presents opportunities to practice self-control. In conversations. In decisions. In habits. In moments of frustration.
Small victories compound over time.
A father who learns self-control strengthens his leadership, his relationships, and his witness.
Dad Takeaway: Self-control is strength under God's direction
