A Cord of Three Strands

Oct 14
1 min read

Ecclesiastes 4:12

The Preacher adds that though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves — and a cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Strength compounds with connection.

Add strands, don't just rely on one.

A single strand breaks easier than a woven cord.

Invite God into your closest partnerships.

The "third strand" often points beyond just human companionship.

Expect greater resilience with more connection.

Isolation is fragile. Real community holds under pressure.

Defend each other actively.

Two defending together accomplishes what one alone often can't.

Build the cord before the storm.

Weaving takes time. Don't wait until you need the strength to start building it.

Dad Takeaway: One strand snaps easy. A cord of three holds under real pressure.
