Guard Your Heart

Proverbs 4:23

Solomon's instruction is blunt: guard your heart above everything else, because everything you do flows out of it. What you protect there determines who you become out here.

Know what you're feeding it.

What you watch, read, and dwell on shapes you more than you think.

Watch for small compromises.

Guardrails don't fail all at once. They erode a little at a time.

Protect your thought life.

Battles are usually won or lost in your head before they show up anywhere else.

Surround yourself wisely.

The people closest to you either sharpen your heart or dull it.

Take inventory regularly.

Don't wait for a collapse to check what's actually going on inside.

Dad Takeaway: Everything you do traces back to what you've let into your heart.
