Sharpened

1 min read

Proverbs 27:17

Iron doesn't sharpen itself. It takes friction, contact, another piece of iron pressing against it. Growth as a man works the same way — you weren't built to sharpen alone.

Stop trying to grow in isolation.

Sharpening requires contact. Isolation just leaves you dull.

Find the men who challenge you.

Comfortable relationships rarely sharpen anything. Look for ones with a little friction.

Let correction do its work.

Being sharpened isn't always pleasant in the moment. Let it happen anyway.

Sharpen someone else too.

You're not just meant to receive this. You're meant to give it.

Show up consistently.

Sharpening happens over repeated contact, not a single conversation.

Dad Takeaway: You don't get sharp by accident. You get sharp by staying close to the right men.
