The Blessing of Rest

Mark 6:31

"Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."

Even Jesus recognized the importance of rest.

Many fathers feel guilty when they slow down. There is always another project to complete, another task to accomplish, or another responsibility demanding attention. Yet God never designed us to operate without rest.

Rest is not laziness. Rest is obedience.

When we constantly push beyond our limits, we often become impatient, distracted, and emotionally drained. Our families feel the effects. Our spiritual lives suffer. Our ability to lead effectively decreases.

God created rhythms of work and rest because He understands how we are made. Rest allows us to recharge physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Take time to disconnect from constant demands. Spend time with God. Enjoy your family. Go for a walk. Sit quietly and reflect on God's goodness.

A rested father often becomes a more patient father, a more present husband, and a stronger spiritual leader.

Dad Takeaway: Rest is not a reward for finishing everything. It's a gift from God.
