Love That Leads

Scripture: “We love because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19

Advent leads us toward love — not the Hallmark version, but the sacrificial, steady, self-giving love God poured out through Jesus.

Love leads. It shows up. It serves. It sacrifices. And as dads, we’re called to replicate the kind of love our Father shows us. Kids don’t need perfect fathers — they need present ones. They need a dad whose love is steady even when life is stressful, messy, or imperfect.

Love looks like choosing patience when you’re tired. It looks like apologizing when you blow it.It looks like praying over your kids when they don’t even know it.It looks like affection, encouragement, presence, and leadership.

This season, let love lead your home:

  • Love with your words

  • Love with your time

  • Love with your attention

  • Love by initiating peace

  • Love by showing grace

Your children will remember how you loved them long after they forget the gifts under the tree.

Dad Takeaway: Lead your home with the love God has already poured into you.
