Preparing Room

Scripture: “Prepare the way for the Lord.” — Matthew 3:3

We prepare rooms in December — guest rooms, gift rooms, tree spaces, table spaces. But Advent calls us to something deeper: prepare room in our hearts and homes for Christ.

Preparing room means clearing space mentally: slowing down, simplifying, saying no to distractions.

It means preparing spiritually: praying, reading Scripture, talking to your family about the meaning of the season. It means preparing relationally: forgiving quickly, speaking gently, leading calmly.

Your kids will feel the tone you set. When you prepare room for Jesus, the whole home shifts.

Dad Takeaway: The most important room you prepare this season is the room in your heart for Christ.
